A painting that is a novel that is a clothing brand. Paintings that are like clothes instead of clothes that are like paintings.
A ready-to-wear collection that promises an impossible outfit. This is the symptomatology of a retail therapist. Psychoanalysis focuses on our illusions as the ever-present source of our truth. Put another way, fashion is interiority worn inside out. You can see the tags.
Ye, for I did not purchase the clothes advertised on Pinterest, and was cleansed of sin.
The degree of unattainability correlates to inefficiency, rarity, and sizing. Impossible outfits include: the trademark look of a cartoon character (the furry down of a 'toon mouse wearing nothing but red booty shorts), hats made from newspapers (stormy skies predict a wardrobe malfunction), and the ease of a Halloween costume made from a sheet and scissors. Phasion (pronounced fashion) is the screen of Phantasy.
I was a maladaptive daydreamer looking for an unconscious revolution.
The feminine narcissism of girls looking at girls wearing clothes.
I like the early Miu Miu runways (Fall/Winter 1995; Spring/Summer 1996) and the fantasy space of fashion in general. Where else can you wear sheer dresses and panties as bottoms and have it mean nothing? Mannequins become sexless in their presentation but carry the outlines of a new femininity. Their faces are permanent microexpressions. Styling opens up this permissive space where dress is entirely ornament, and the body is used in a world closer to movement studies than to any kind of standard physical exertion. Personal style is naturally at war with styling, which incorporates what is non-functional and vestigial in pursuit of a sublime, static shot. A receipt can make a great scarf.
Practical (Heads) or ornamental (Tails)?
Classic Art Hoe Nonsense (Adolf Loos).
I am going to make the most normal clothing possible. I am a formalist mistaken for a sentimentalist. I am a propagator of genes extracted from girls' dress-up games.
The DNA tests are back:

20% Nylon
6% Spandex.
I was 26% synthetic fiber but forced to Keep It Real.
